It's simple. 365 days. 365 tasks to complete organization. The problem I am often faced with in organizing is that it becomes overwhelming. I begin one task only to be side-tracked by another task and then another, only to end with several partially-completed things still in utter chaos. The plan is to have no plan--no layout, no blueprint, nothing set in stone as to what I will accomplish each day. Just one important task that will bring me closer to organizational bliss. It could be small, such as organizing a drawer or it could be big, such as organizing a closet. Some things may take several days or even a week. The important thing is completion and consistency.
I plan to keep a running list of needful tasks at hand and to be in-tune with what is needed on that day or during a specific season of the year. (For example, Spring is the perfect time for organizing the attic, organizing the garage, and organizing a yard sale.) I also intend to use Sundays to complete non-household, more meaningful tasks, such as archiving journals, pictures, and working on family scrapbooks.
Behold, I say unto you, that by small and simple things are great things brought to pass."
(Alma 37:6, The Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ)
365 days. 365 steps to complete organizational bliss. I can do this!
